Fitness Challenge Bootcamp (March through September)

Times:
Mon/Wed/Fri. - 6 - 7 am, 7 - 8 am, 7 - 8 pm

2010 Bootcamp Start Dates:
March 1, April 5, May 3, May 31, July 5, August 2, September 6

Cost: $180 / $160 for continuing bootcamps

Bootcamp with Verna has been one of the best experiences of my life! I feel more energetic than I ever have. Although each morning we were greatly challenged, in the end it was all worth it! I am so excited to start up again next month!

4-week Boot Camp

Increase strength, cardio ability and agility with this no-nonsense 60-minute workout that incorporates many callisthenic movements and bodyweight exercises and ends with relaxing stretches. Through the summer, the class will be held at Bonniebrook Beach in Gibsons, throughout the fall/winter season, the first 40 minutes of the class will be held indoors (location TBA – dependent on class size) there will be a short run outdoors followed by 10 minutes of stretching indoors.

Track your progress with a pre and post bootcamp weigh-in and measure - complementary wrap-up get-together included!

What you'll need: Please wear supportive running shoes and weather-appropriate active-wear (layering is good) and bring water. All other materials will be provided.

 

Strength Circuit - In Hiatus for the Summer

Thursday - 7:00 pm

Cost:
Pay-What-You-Can (cash or non-perishable food items - supports the Gibsons Food Bank)

The perfect complement to your personal training session or if you want an extra cardio / strength hit in the week!
Work every muscle group with this face-paced circuit that will build endurance and strength while keeping your heart rate up with cardio intervals. As much as possible we focus on functional exercises that also work core so great for sport conditioning! Go at your own pace. Ends with relaxing stretches.

Classes will be held with a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 so please call or email to reserve your spot! 

 

Go Play Outside! - In Hiatus for the Winter

Thurs. - 7:00 pm

Enjoy an outdoor class in various locations in Gibsons!
As I did last summer, I would like to offer a class outside once per week. Last year this was a boot camp class in Dougall Park on Sunday mornings, this year it's Thursday evenings at 7pm and we'll vary locations to take advantage of the various natural features each location offers. These classes will be geared to all fitness levels (so, if boot camp seems daunting, this will be somewhat easier),  will use little to no equipment, and there is no charge—although, as last year, if you would like to bring a donation for the Gibsons Food Bank, I will accept food or cash on their behalf! Locations for the next few weeks will be:

 June 24th – Winegarden Park
July 1st – Canada Day – NO CLASS
July 8th – Dougall Park
July 15th – Bonniebrook Beach

Classes will be held with a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 so please call or email to reserve your spot! 

 

Body Sculpt

Instructor - Verna Chan

Times:
Mon. - 5:30 pm

Strengthen, stretch and sweat!
This 60-minute class incorporating resistance bands, stability and bosu balls will give you a balanced workout in the comfort of our private studio. Small class sizes mean you get individual attention and instruction! 

Classes will be held with a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 so please call or email to reserve your spot! 

Yoga

Tues. - 7:15 - 8:15 pm

Yoga combines active postures with relaxing static postures for overall increased flexibility, strength, balance and peace of mind.
Classic, Hatha Yoga, perfect for beginners as well as those with some previous experience.  Each class integrates breathing and postures to create a mindful flow, providing a workout with a meditative approach.  Emphasis is placed on safety, breathing and practicing without pain.  The pace of Classic, Hatha yoga is slower, allowing you to work more on the alignment and form of each pose.  You will improve your strength and flexibility, while increasing your concentration and calming your mind.   

Classes will be held with a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 so please call or email to reserve your spot! 

Everyone welcome, novice and more experienced yogis.

All you need is comfortable clothing that allows a full range of body motion.

An affordable, flexible and fun way to get fit that’s as easy as 1, 2, 3...

  1. Find 2 - 10 friends or work associates that would like to do a class at the same time as you for 4 weeks or longer (1 to 3 times/week)

  2. Call Verna at the Garage at 604-886-3114 and book your time

  3. Attend your class and get fit on your time!

BYOC available for Bodysculpt, Bootcamp, and Working with Weights classes, custom classes may be available by request – call today for more info and to get started!

Cost of In-House Classes (excluding Bootcamp):

Please pre-register monthly for 1 or more (of any combination) of classes per week.
1 class/week (4 classes) - $50/month
2 classes/week (8 classes) - $90/month
3 classes/week (12 classes) - $120/month

Note: Classes will be held with a minimum registration of 4 – if you would like to attend classes on a drop-in basis we would be happy to email you if we have space. Drop in - $13/class. If you are unable to attend your pre-registered class please call or email us– if we are able to fill your spot, you will be credited $10/class on your next months’ registration.
